Leaker Kamila Wojciechowska has revealed that Google plans to offer a significant preorder bonus for its upcoming Pixel Watch.
According to Wojciechowska, Google will provide a complimentary Pixel Watch 2 to those who preorder a Pixel 8 Pro. This information was shared alongside other leaks, including a promotional video published by 91mobiles that confirms previously rumored details about the Watch 2. This deal could help offset the impact of the rumored price increase for the Pixel 8 Pro, which is said to start at $999. Comparatively, the original Pixel Watch begins at $349.99 for the non-cellular version. With this offer, the Pixel 8 Pro effectively becomes a $650 phone, assuming the price rumor holds true. Additionally, Wojciechowska indicated that, at least for business customers, the Pixel 8 Pro may retain the $899 price of its predecessor, the 7 Pro. In 91mobiles' article, a leaked promotional video provides insights into the Pixel Watch 2. The video suggests that the watch will feature a 24-hour battery life, consistent with the first-generation Google wearable, as well as capabilities for stress and skin temperature detection. The watch is also expected to include a continuous electrodermal activity sensor, similar to the one in the Fitbit Sense 2. Furthermore, the Pixel Watch 2 is said to offer automatic workout detection for seven different exercises, including running and outdoor cycling—features absent from the original Pixel Watch. With the Made by Google launch event scheduled for October 4th, many details about these devices have been unveiled, leaving little to the imagination.
